Beautiful cherry, strawberry and dark-chocolate character here with medium to full body, chewy tannins and a balanced and polished finish. Lovely and flavorful at the end.” – 94 Points James Suckling Read more..
|Region||La Morra, Piedmont|
Crissante Alessandria has been around (and bottling) since the 1950's, but growing grapes in La Morra for over 8 generations. The family estate backs up to Elio Altare's home estate and vineyards. Tiny, they make less than 2000 case total production. Old-school style, they bottle in the traditional "Albeisa" bottle. This wine is labeled under the new "village" system of Barolo, Comune di La Morra, one of the greatest towns in Barolo. In the 1980's they added some small parcels from prestigious Cru's Roggeri, Gallina, and Capolot to their vineyard holdings and started bottling them separately
